The Masters by John Moppin

The Champions of yesterday and the men who made the Fantail Fancy a reality for us today must be in a heavenly place tending to those near perfect specimens. Our Fathers of the Fancy are once again sitting in their wooden folding chairs huddled together with a keen eye on the Fantail Fancy of today. I can"t help but think when we"re gathered for a major meet that somewhere with us are the spirits of such greats as Karl Otto Sr., Eugene Altpeter, Sr., Gerald Champ, Cy Harper, and Elisha Hanson. These men are never really gone because we see their work and accomplishments whenever we attend the Central, the Eastern, and other major meets. Many of us in the Fantail Fancy today never had the chance to meet these great breeders and personally I feel a little empty inside when I think about them. In this section I"ve compiled some of the writings of these Fantail Breeders. What would a Fantail Special be without these pioneers of our present day Fantails?
