Central Fantail Club Show Classification and Color Class Hierarchy As approved January 28, 2006

The purpose of this table is to determine into which class a show entry should be placed to assure consistent grouping of birds which may have multiple mutations or modifiers affecting their coloration and minimize the potential of same colored birds being in multiple color classes within a show. How to use: When considering how to classify a bird start at the top of the list and go down to the first class into which the bird fits. That is where it is to be entered, even though it might also be of a color that could possibly be included in a class lower down the list. For example: an ash red bar grizzle would be shown as a grizzle, even though ash red is further down the list. In some instances, when entry levels would support, the major classifications can be broken out further into the sub-classifications listed in the parenthesis after the major classifications. Color Class Hierarchy Silky -- All colors Rare – color recently introduced into Fantails – i.e. reduced, stencil, barless, non-gold pales, faded blue or ash red, etc. Tailmark Bodymark Saddle (red/yellow, black/dun, blue/silver, AOC) Grizzle Gold Yellow Red Almond (to include DeRoy) Pied Qualmond (including spread, checker and bar with dilute and milky versions of same) Dominant Opal (including spread, checker and bar with dilute and milky versions of same) Brown (spread, check, bar, and dilute, faded or milky versions of same) Andalusian (specifically only heterozygous indigo spread blue) Indigo (to include all indigo versions other than andalusian, also homozygotes) Dun Black Other Spread Series (Lavenders, ash red spread, etc. and dilutes of same) Ash Yellow (bar, check and milky versions of same) Ash Red (bar, check and milky versions of same) Powdered Silver Bar Powdered Blue Bar Blue Checker or Bronze Checker (ranging from saturated T pattern checkers to open light checks, to include milky and dilute versions of same), Silver, Bar, Blue, Bar, White.
